U.S. middleweight champion Joey Gilbert of Reno and challenger Charles Howe of Grelton, Ohio, each weighed in today at 159 pounds, a pound less than the limit for their 10-round title bout at the Grand Sierra Resort on Friday night.
It was the fourth consecutive fight that Gilbert, who is 15-1 with 11 knockouts, has weighed 159 pounds.
“I just make sure I’m a little under,” Gilbert said. “I want to make sure just in case the scales aren’t dead on.”
Howe will take a 17-3-2 record with one no contest into the bout. (via Ryan’s shared items in Google Reader)
