June 2nd, 2008 / ‡ / +When did Domingo Rivera change his tune? Sometime between August 4, 2007 and mid-April, 2008 Domingo decided that speaking out against misuses of the DMCA wasn’t as fun as throwing around DMCA takedown notices. Using materials to defend oneself (and show a pattern of threats and bullying as a part of that defense, I would presume) should be legal, he claims. And trust me, compared to the stuff he pulls, the stretch I just made in that last sentence is very logical.
Well, then he decided it would be just fine to shut down a blogger (me) by claiming a DMCA violation to my web host. Dirty pool, Domingo. From his post:
The DMCA and the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act are two of the most widely misused Internet related laws.
I couldn’t agree more, my friend.

Ryan, the UNR is under investigation by the FBI. The President too. This is serious stuff. All the whistleblower lawsuits are problematic to UNR. Keep Christy, your family and our office out of this. I know you are po’d that your site is being shut down. Some things are best. Stay away from this. Your blog is creating a lot of pressure in our office. I alerted you once. Your wife’s career should be your priority. Cheers.

Ryan I work with your wife. The UNR central administration do not want publicity on the lawsuit. It is very dangerous to them. Regardless of your intent they do not like your blog. They have found out that Christy works at UNR. They discard people who call attention to anything negative and the lawsuit is a real negative to them. Be careful and think about the affect this will have on Christy’s job. I was going to email her but did not want this on the UNR server. They terminate whistle blowers and you are a whistle blower to them right now. Be careful.
May 3rd, 2008 / ‡ / +Josh Kenzer grabbed some feeds from baseball and uses them to send out tweets every few minutes updating in progress games. Awesome. They only update when there is new information, so it’s not too annoying. ONly two teams available so far.
April 25th, 2008 / ‡ / +Article from the Sagebrush on the most recent string of lawsuits. It now stands at three, but expect this number to reach the teens, easily.
April 17th, 2008 / ‡ / +Woah. Maybe this is the famous Jose. Maybe his status makes him have to live in secrecy with someone who is said to have four roommates but actually doesn’t have roommates. And maybe his unending loyalty made him leave that comment in support of said roommate. The possibilities are endless.

April 16th, 2008 / ‡ / +Wolfy has ways to make you not be a spammer. I like the rules but would add a sixth bullet point: Just don’t be a douche.
