This is an absolute, 100% must-read for baseball fans. Not only is it a rarity that there is a thoughtful, reasoned, backed-up article about baseball on ESPN, but I generally preface every statement I make when talking to other baseball fans about pitching with, “closers are overrated.” I say it about managers, too, but I doubt we’ll see an article about them anytime soon.
